I regularly paint at farmers markets, craft fairs, art fairs, community festivals, and seasonal markets. I also love being part of private celebrations like birthday parties, family gatherings, and even adult parties where guests want something playful and unique.

You’ll also find Witty Kitty Face Painting at larger events such as corporate parties, community festivals, Renaissance fairs, cosplay events, and holiday celebrations like Halloween events and fall festivals.

Witty Kitty Face Painting is based in Madison Wi, and regularly travels in southern Wisconsin and surrounding areas. (Usually 30 min radius)
Main areas of service: Madison, Verona, Monona, Middleton, Sun prairie, Fitchburg WI, New Glarus.

I’m happy to travel to nearby towns and cities for events, and larger events may allow for longer travel distances with a travel fee. If you're unsure whether your event location is within my service area, just reach out and ask!

Booking is easy! Simply fill out the event inquiry form on my website with your event details, including the date, location, and type of event. I’ll get back to you as soon as possible to confirm availability and answer any questions. Once your event details are finalized and the deposit is received, your date will be officially reserved.

I recommend booking as early as possible, especially for weekends, holidays, and busy seasons like summer and fall festival season. Many dates fill up weeks or even months in advance. If your event is coming up soon, feel free to fill out my booking form, if I’m available, I’d love to make it work!

Pricing can vary depending on the type of event, the length of time you’d like face painting, and the event location. Most bookings are based on an hourly rate ($135) with a minimum booking of 2 hours.

Larger events such as festivals, markets, and community events may have different arrangements depending on the setup and expected attendance.

Because every event is a little different, the best way to get accurate pricing is to submit the booking form on my website with your date, location, and event details. I’ll get back to you with availability and a quote as soon as possible!

Yes. A deposit is required to secure your event date. Because I can only book one event at a time, the deposit ensures that your time slot is reserved just for you. The remaining balance is typically due on or before the day of the event. (Some exceptions apply, reach out and we can talk)

If I can no longer make the event due to sickness or emergency, I will refund you the deposit in full and also try to find you a replacement painter for the date. 
If you cancel the event/ reschedule the event, I keep the deposit. And the deposit can be used towards having me at another one of your events in the future ( or the reschedule date). 

I can typically paint 15–20 faces per hour, depending on the type of event and the designs being requested.

For large festivals or high-volume events where many guests are waiting, I can offer a menu of fast, colorful designs that take around 2 minutes each so more people can enjoy face painting.

For smaller or slower-paced events like birthday parties, I’m happy to take a extra time to add more detail, shading, and special touches to each design. This allows every guest to get something a bit more personalized while still keeping the line moving.

I only need a small space to set up typically about the size of a small table and two chairs and a space for a design board under shade. A space of about 4 feet by 6 feet works perfectly. I also appreciate being set up in an area where guests can easily find me but where there’s enough room for a small line.

I can provide 1 table and 2 adult sized chairs if needed. If a table and guest chairs are available at the venue, that’s great- but if not, just let me know ahead of time and we can plan accordingly.

For outdoor events, being under a shaded covered area is necessary. If the event doesn’t provide one, I can provide a canopy and set it up for a fee.

Of course! Some guests prefer a design on their hand, arm, wrist, or leg instead of their face. I’m happy to paint those areas so everyone can still enjoy the fun.

Yes. I only use professional, cosmetic-grade face paints that are specifically designed for use on skin. These products are widely used by professional face painters and are safe for most people when applied properly. (Brands range, but my favorites are Wolfe FX and Diamond FX)

Yes. Face painting works best in shaded areas because direct sun can affect the painter, the kids, and the paints. A tent, canopy, or shaded space helps keep the setup comfortable and the paints performing their best. It is also necessary for rain protection

If the event does not supply a canopy, I can provide and set up one for a fee.

Payment options can include cash, zelle, venmo, card, or check (or other agreed-upon methods) depending on the event. Final payment details will be discussed when booking your event.

Yes. Witty Kitty Face Painting carries liability insurance, which is often required for festivals, corporate events, and public venues. If your event organizer or venue requires proof of insurance, I’m happy to provide documentation upon request.

Face painting is fun for all ages! I regularly paint designs for children, teens, and adults at festivals, parties, and special events.

For very young children, I typically recommend simple designs and may suggest painting on the arm or hand if they prefer. I will not paint a non consenting child though. If the kid doesn’t want the painting/ is too young to consent, I will respect the child’s autonomy.

People love my dragons, tigers, and flowers!

For health and safety reasons, I cannot paint on skin that has open cuts, wounds, rashes, infections, or other visible skin irritations. Face painting products are cosmetic-grade, but applying them to broken or irritated skin could cause discomfort or make the condition worse.

I also ask that anyone who is currently experiencing cold, flu, or other upper respiratory symptoms (such as coughing, sneezing, or a runny nose) wait until they are feeling better before getting painted. This helps keep the experience safe and comfortable for everyone at the event.

I rebranded the face painting part of my business! With the Special Effects Makeup and scary props I was making at Witte Artistry it just no longer made sense to have them all under the same roof.
